Dueling and Sparring Arenas have been added to Oceania Classic. Dueling Arenas are for taking on other players, while Sparring Arenas provide the player with an NPC sparring partner with enhanced AI to compete against.
Reagent Free Zones
The Arenas are Reagent Free Zones, meaning spells cast while inside the Arenas do not require or consume Reagents.
No Looting
Players are unable to loot corpses in the Arenas that do not belong to their own character.
Furthermore, anything in the TOP LEVEL of a character's Backpack will temporarily be treated as Blessed while the character is in the Arena, meaning those items will return to their Backpack after resurrection if they die. This does NOT include anything in bags/containers inside the Backpack. Bags/containers, including their content, will drop to the character's corpse on death.
No Potions
Use of all potions is disabled in Arenas.
No Field Spells
The Fire, Poison, Paralyze, and Energy Field spells are disabled in Arenas.
Trammel Locations
Keen observers will note that some of the Arenas are located in areas that are normally under the Trammel ruleset in modern UO. Indeed, some Arenas are actually technically located in Trammel itself. However, on Oceania Classic there is no Trammel ruleset and these locations that are physically located on the Trammel map are actually under the Britannia/Felucca ruleset, meaning players may be freely attacked by others. The Trammel map is being used in this way simply to provide a second "instance" of these locations. Players are unable to leave these isolated/locked off areas and get into the rest of Trammel (which is completely empty anyway if you were wondering).
