Modern ship movement from the High Seas Expansion is enabled on Oceania Classic. This allows players to control ship movement using the mouse.

Stand on the deck next to the tillerman or ship's wheel while dismounted and double click it. If you have rights to the ship you can take command of it in this manner.

When in command you can control the boat in the same way you ride a mount. Hold down the right mouse button while pointing in the direction you wish to sail.

Navigation by hand

In the commands below, replace direction with any of the following: "forward left", "forward right", "backward left", "backward right", "back left", "back right", "backwards", "backward", or "back".

You need to have the gold for the purchase on you, except when buying for a total of more than 2000gp, i.e. tents, houses, boats, guildstones or say *a lot* of reagents. In that case the amount will be taken straight out of your bankbox and you receive the item(s) you purchased in your backpack.
  • name sell: The items in your backpack that can be sold to the vendor will be shown to you. You can select which items you want to sell. There is a maximum of 5 items per transaction.

Vendor (player)

In the commands below, replace name with either the vendor's name or one of the words "shopkeeper", "salesman", "saleswoman", "salesperson" or "vendor", or a general salutation like "hi", "greetings", "hail", "hello", "hey" or "yo".

  • name dismiss: Terminates the vendor's contract of employment. The vendor will self-destruct, leaving no corpse. Any items or gold he is holding will not be reimbursed, so remove all items and issue a "collect" command first. There is no way to get back the "private" funds that he has in "his" account, only the gold he is "holding for you" as collected from sales.
  • name replace: Operates the same as name dismiss, except you receive your deed back upon using this command.
